ATTRACTIONS AROUND
Las Coloradas. Yucatan’s stunning cotton-candy pink lakes (1 h 30 min by car).
Rio Lagartos. Boat trip between the mangroves of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Ria Lagartos (1 h 18 min by car).
Isla Holbox. A paradise island with beautiful beaches, fascinating flora and fauna, and no cars (1 h by boat).
Whale Shark. Swim with one of the most beautiful ocean creatures. Tours depart from Holbox Island (1 h by boat from el Cuyo). Once in Holbox, the boat ride to the swimming spot takes another hour. From mid-May to mid-September.
Ek Balam. With its majestic constructions hidden among large trees, is a site unlike any other Archaeological site in Yucatan. (2 h by car)
Valladolid. A colorful city full of colonial buldings and beautiful cenotes (2 h 18 min by car).
Izamal. Yucatan’s magical yellow town with one of the oldest Catholic churches in the Americas and ancient Mayan ruins (2 h 47 min by car).
